My "Mom Cave"

Today is the Link Party for the "Mom Cave" Contest over at

Prizes include gift cards to the awesome HomeGoods
...sweet

**************************

When questioned on where I {mother of twins, wife, human being} recharge my batteries, it didn't take long to see the lightbulb go off.

There is one place in my house where I can truly exhale.
I can read, put on some music, and block out all other sounds or cries that may be coming from inside the walls of my home.
It is my sanctuary to lose myself in a novel and wash the stress of the day right out of my hair.
Literally.

My bathroom.
Or more importantly, my bathtub.
Surrounded by soft candlelight {and sometimes a sparkling flute of champagne} I can melt away in the bubble bath haven I have created for myself.
Here, no one needs to know where the remote is,
what is for dinner,
or why my son has crayon around his mouth.
Here, I fill the silence with a soft voice coming through my iPod.

And when I find myself recharged enough to reenter the battle,
I linger a bit
throw on a big cushy robe,
and smile.
Because the busy life of being a wife and mother that makes me need a "mom cave,"
is exactly the life I want.

Now THAT! is a great idea! Moms know that often the bathroom is the only "alone" time that exists- and even those boundaries are crossed sometimes:) Your tub looks dreamy!

I envy you that tub and the space that you have in your bathroom. It's a retreat inside your own house. If I had that, I'd be in the mom cave nightly!

Oh what a great idea for your Mom Cave and I'm sure it will be just what you need with twins. Just turn up the ipod so you don't hear those little ones tap, tap, tapping on te door ;) Best of luck, fondly, Roberta
